2. About the Opportunity:
The Sr Software Engineer, Data & Analytics role is critical for building and maintaining a scalable and reliable data ecosystem that supports insights, decision-making, and personalized user experiences. This position bridges data engineering and analytics, ensuring accurate and accessible data across the organization. It contributes directly to optimizing data infrastructure for analytics and business intelligence, enabling data-driven strategies and product enhancements.
3. Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and product insights.
• Develop and optimize data modeling layers for performance and usability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define data requirements and deliver insights.
• Implement best practices in data quality, governance, and security.
• Promote self-service analytics through clear data models and documentation.
• Evaluate and integrate new data tools to improve the data stack.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines to maintain reliability.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
4. Requirements:
• Bachelor''s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with modern data stack tools such as dbt and BigQuery.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with complex data model design and optimization.
• Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks like Airflow or Fivetran.
• Familiarity with event-based analytics platforms (e.g., Segment).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles.
• Expertise with BI and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with scripting languages for data transformation (Python, R, or similar).
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred:
• Experience in EdTech, startup, or consumer-facing environments.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as New Relic or Datadog.
• Knowledge of system performance optimization and distributed systems.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The pay range for this position is between $124,000 and $155,000 annually, with base pay varying based on knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
• An annual bonus plan may be part of the compensation.
• Additional medical and/or other benefits may be included depending on the position.
