Sr Software Engineer, Cribl AI

2. About the Opportunity:

The Sr Software Engineer, Cribl AI will work closely with the founding team and skilled engineers to shape the future of search and analytics for observability data. This role focuses on integrating advanced Generative AI technologies into the core product suite to solve real customer problems. The position demands collaboration with product and design teams to prototype, develop, and deliver impactful AI features that enhance the customer experience. The role also involves maintaining a high level of innovation while supporting operational needs.

3. Responsibilities:

• Productionize, launch, and operate AI-based technology integrations into core products
• Collaborate with product and design leaders to prototype and test new AI features
• Stay current with the latest AI technologies and industry trends
• Participate in stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties as required

4. Requirements:

• 5 to 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in building and operating modern web applications
• Proven fullstack experience, including designing and scaling React-based user interfaces and backend services/APIs
• Expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript and experience with at least one backend language/runtime (e.g., Node.js, Go, Java)
• Hands-on experience with data infrastructure, including databases, APIs, observability, and integration with third-party services in production
• Experience developing AI agent–driven conversational user interfaces linked to backend and data systems
• Knowledge of LLM application patterns (RAG, agents, prompt engineering) with implementation experience from prototype to production
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocols (MCP) and integrating external tools and data sources into LLM-based systems
• Strong problem-solving skills aligned with product and business goals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical topics in remote/distributed environments

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary range: $165,000 - $225,000, dependent on geographic location and candidate experience
