2. About the Opportunity:
The Software Engineer / Sr Software Engineer (Python) role is designed to enhance engineering quality through documentation, technical guidance, and mentoring. The position leads significant migration efforts and collaborates with government stakeholders and product teams to build and improve systems. This role contributes to delivering reliable, user-focused solutions that support the organization''s mission and technical culture.
3. Responsibilities:
• Design, review, and build well-crafted software in collaboration with engineering peers
• Collaborate with government partners and contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new and improved systems
• Work in an agile environment to deliver features that meet user needs
• Develop tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows
• Write and review technical documentation and conduct code reviews
• Participate in on-call rotation for production system support and issue investigation
• Contribute to hiring activities such as referrals and interviews, as needed
4. Requirements:
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and Django or Flask
• Minimum of 7 years full-stack engineering experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments with minimal supervision
• Experience with web-based systems, both front-end and back-end
• Ability to design scalable, available, and performant application architectures and code
• Experience with large-scale applications and systems
• Adaptive, empathetic, collaborative mindset
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and architecture
• Skilled in developing well-crafted software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with modern web development frameworks
• Self-directed and able to work effectively in teams
• Previous software engineering experience
• Aptitude for giving and receiving feedback
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Ability to meet government contract requirements, including possible background checks or security clearances
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• $135,900—$153,000 USD
