Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Washington, DC, USA

2. About the Opportunity: The Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition role is focused on managing data collection processes to support AI model training efforts. The position contributes to building large-scale, cost-effective datasets through collaboration with engineers and researchers. The role impacts the development of next-generation AI-powered consumer and enterprise products by enhancing data quality and scale.

3. Responsibilities:

• Identify and integrate new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline
• Operate and enhance cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, primarily on GCP with Terraform
• Collaborate with AI scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and quality of data
• Assist in developing the dataset roadmap for AI team initiatives

4. Requirements:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of software development industry experience
• Proficiency in bash/Python scripting within Linux environments
• Experience with Docker, Infrastructure-as-Code, and at least one major cloud provider (GCP preferred)
• Familiarity with web crawlers and large-scale data workflows is advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The United States base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 to $200,000 plus bonus and equity, depending on experience
