2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Software Engineer, Presence plays a key role in shaping technical and product strategy within a team focused on building innovative products that enhance user engagement. This role contributes to the development of new features and systems that empower businesses, publishers, and professionals to grow their presence on the platform. The position impacts the organization by advancing product capabilities and supporting a safe, dynamic user environment.
3. Responsibilities:
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to execute product and business strategies.
• Participate in full development cycles including design, coding, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mockups.
• Contribute to developer workflow improvements and mentor team engineers.
• Engage in strategic planning and decision-making for backend development.
• Balance rapid development with high-quality outputs to deliver new products efficiently.
4. Requirements:
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience using languages such as Go, Python, Ruby, Java, or C++.
• Proficient with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and API design and implementation.
• Experience with distributed caching and large-scale data storage systems like Cassandra.
• Proven track record in developing scalable and reliable serving systems.
• Experience leading projects involving cross-team and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Self-directed, innovative, and able to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating remotely with technical and non-technical teams.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Base salary range: $190,000—$267,000 USD.
• Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
• May be eligible for commission depending on position.
