Senior Software Engineer, Platform

2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer, Platform is responsible for developing core backend components within an engineering team. This role focuses on designing and optimizing scalable Java-based microservices and RESTful APIs, contributing to the reliability and performance of the company’s financial service offerings. The position is critical for maintaining high engineering standards and supporting a collaborative development culture.

3. Responsibilities:

• Measure and optimize performance, scalability, and uptime of backend services

• Promote engineering excellence through design and code reviews

• Collaborate with product management and customer teams to enhance user experience

• Develop consistent REST APIs and domain-driven service designs

4. Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience building distributed, scalable software

• Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures and algorithms

• Proficient in Java and Java-based microservices with Spring Boot

• Experience designing and supporting customer-facing RESTful APIs

• Skilled in relational database schema design using PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent

• Familiar with unit and integration testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, git-flow, SonarQube is a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The salary range for this role is $160-170k.

• The range reflects an average base salary across the U.S., with offers based on individual experience and skills.
