About the Opportunity:
The organization is focused on modernizing veterinary software and the pet healthcare experience through a suite of platforms including a procurement marketplace, a home delivery ecommerce platform, and a practice management system. Over 25,000 hospitals nationwide use these platforms daily, supporting tens of thousands of veterinarians who care for millions of pets annually. The Software Engineer role involves supporting projects from conception to completion across the technology stack to create intuitive, innovative products for users.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to conceptualization and documentation of new ideas and product enhancements
• Build and extend interactive React applications used by veterinary purchasers, hospital group owners, and animal health manufacturers
• Add and maintain good test coverage
• Develop reusable components for team use
• Implement new features in React Native applications
• Collaborate with CTO, engineering team, and other functions to evolve the platform and products
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with web applications
• Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in Computer Science
• Proficiency in at least one industry-standard programming language and interest in learning others
• Experience building production applications with modern web frameworks
• Ability to design features with attention to data models, accuracy, security, and performance
• Experience working with databases and optimizing queries
• Fluency in JavaScript as a prototyped and functional language
• Good software testing practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent responsibilities and adapt quickly
• Customer-focused mindset and positive team attitude
• Experience with backend languages, ORM, and API endpoint development
• Startup experience is a plus
• Comfortable working remotely

Compensation:
• Typical base pay range across the U.S.: $115,000/year to $200,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits
• Colorado-specific salary range: $135,000 to $175,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits
• Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience
• Salary ranges exclude bonus, equity, and other incentives
