2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer, BI will provide senior technical leadership in building and maintaining the business intelligence platform within a fast-growing software engineering team. This role involves owning the architecture and delivery of core features, enhancing system scalability, performance, and reliability, and developing front-end applications that serve BI content to clients. The position contributes to the organization's ability to deliver impactful healthcare technology by ensuring the BI platform supports complex data needs and maintains compliance with healthcare standards.

3. Responsibilities:

• Lead technical design and architecture for complex BI platform features
• Own end-to-end delivery of features, platform improvements, and optimizations
• Make data-informed technical decisions and evaluate trade-offs
• Architect and build scalable cloud services using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Develop REST APIs, ETL pipelines, and backend systems for analytics and reporting
• Build and maintain React and TypeScript web applications and dashboards
• Design systems for large datasets, complex queries, and high-scale usage
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability across services and databases
• Define and maintain testing strategies using pytest, Jest, and Cypress
• Ensure systems comply with healthcare security, compliance, and data governance standards
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and pairing
• Collaborate with product, data science, analytics, and business teams

4. Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of software development lifecycle experience
• Strong backend experience with Python and modern web frameworks
• Experience building and scaling RESTful APIs and cloud-native systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, Athena, CloudWatch)
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, system architecture, and design patterns
• Frontend experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.)
• Understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and handling large datasets
• Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes, or analytics platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code
• Proven leadership in technical initiatives and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly
• Ownership mindset with ability to balance speed and quality in a startup environment

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The salary range for this position is $128,000 to $145,000 annually
• Compensation includes health insurance, 401k, and bonus
• Individual pay decisions are based on qualifications, experience, skillset, and internal alignment
