About the Opportunity:

The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, BACKEND (CARD LOAN PLATFORM) role centers on leading the design, development, and execution of scalable, high-availability backend services critical to the financial platform's functioning. This position drives technical strategy, collaborates across multiple functions to define and implement card loan lifecycle strategies, and ensures system robustness and performance. The role contributes significantly to the organization's ability to process financial transactions with accuracy and scale, impacting every card transaction.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical strategy, planning, prioritization, and project execution aligned with product and business goals.
• Design and develop large-scale, high-availability backend services including APIs and data models.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting teams to define card loan attribution and lifecycle strategies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system health and performance issues, optimizing for long-term scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, design reviews, and promote best coding practices.

Requirements:

• Over 5 years of software development or engineering experience with strong system design and architecture knowledge.
• Proven leadership skills with a focus on team growth and continuous learning.
• Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex ideas clearly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with creativity in solutions.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, web frameworks, and RESTful API development.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• USA Pacific base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $195,000 - $255,000
• USA Sapphire base pay range (all other U.S. states): $173,000 - $233,000
• Compensation includes base pay, potential equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology expenses, and benefits including fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage.
