About the Opportunity: The Senior/Lead Data Scientist- Pricing Optimization will lead the Pricing and Promotion Optimization team, driving the development and execution of strategies that enhance pricing and promotion efforts. This role is responsible for shaping the product roadmap, aligning it with business goals, and leading a cross-functional team to deliver analytics-driven solutions. The position plays a key role in optimizing pricing strategies, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring the product meets market demands and growth objectives
3. Responsibilities
- Apply advanced data science techniques to solve optimization problems for a consumer packaged goods client
- Communicate analytics approaches and outcomes effectively to business partners
- Develop, manage, and communicate the product roadmap and strategic vision for pricing and promotion optimization
- Design and implement quarterly plans aligned with product goals and key performance indicators
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 5-6 members to foster collaboration and high performance
- Define and implement frameworks to optimize pricing and promotional strategies
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Analytics teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable plans
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and gaps
- Monitor product performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
- Support and collaborate with a growing team of data scientists through coaching and knowledge sharing
- Engage with external sources, including conferences and community events, for new ideas
- Address regulatory and investor relations demands by developing innovative solutions using advanced techniques
4. Requirements:
- Over 10 years of experience in data science and 8+ years in product management focused on pricing, promotions, or optimization
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and product initiatives
- Skilled in creating product roadmaps, prioritizing tasks, and executing strategic plans
- Strong data analysis skills with expertise in pricing strategies and optimization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align with business partners
- Experience with Azure environments and Databricks is a plus
- Proactive and results-driven with strong time management and prioritization abilities
- Flexible, curious, and can-do attitude
