Senior/Lead Data Scientist- Pricing Optimization

2. About the Opportunity:

The Sr. Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer plays a critical role in defending cloud services through detection and response engineering. This position is responsible for developing and operating security controls, enhancing cloud and container security measures, and proactively identifying malicious activity. The role contributes to strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity defenses by integrating threat intelligence, automating detection and response processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to protect cloud infrastructure from a broad range of cyber threats.

3. Responsibilities:

• Build and operate cloud detection and response engineering in Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes using DevOps methodologies

• Continuously improve cloud and Kubernetes security measures and close gaps in defensive posture

• Identify unauthorized and malicious activities in cloud and container systems through code, testing, and automation

• Develop detection policies, perform testing, and automate security information analysis

• Integrate latest security threats and vulnerability intelligence into detection measures

• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and security teams to create scalable protection solutions

• Maintain positive relationships with internal customers to maximize team impact

• Participate in periodic on-call rotations for critical event triage

4. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Cloud Security, IT Security, or related technical field preferred

• U.S. candidates must meet government customer citizenship or residency requirements

• Canadian candidates must undergo personnel security screening and maintain Protected B status

• 5-7 years of cloud security event prevention, detection, and response experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure) in DevOps environments

• 3+ years hands-on Kubernetes experience with logging and runtime security for sensitive container workloads (preferably AKS and EKS)

• Experience in detection and response engineering methodologies, including building detection cases and identifying cyber threats

• Proficiency with security query or analytic tools such as SQL, KQL, or SPL

• Experience creating and improving security playbooks and runbooks for automated detection and response

• Solid understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures against Kubernetes, containers, serverless, Linux hosts, and cloud services (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK)

• Experience with incident management in regulated hosting environments (ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-161r3, FedRAMP, Protected B)

• Analytical and problem-solving skills for data-driven root cause investigations

• Programming experience in Go or Python to create detection-as-code and automation tools

• Cloud infrastructure management using infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Pulumi)

• Familiarity with software engineering tools such as Git and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

• Commitment to DevOps principles and automation

• Ability to manage high-pressure situations and resolve production issues while addressing root causes

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
