Senior Data Scientist, Platform - Identity/Algorithms

2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Data Scientist, Platform - Identity/Algorithms will lead efforts to enhance identity verification and fraud detection through innovative, data-driven solutions. This role directly impacts the trust and safety of the platform by developing and deploying AI and machine learning models that detect fraudulent activity and improve user verification. The position involves collaboration across multiple teams to scale and optimize identity defenses, contributing to the overall social well-being of users.

3. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement AI/ML models for identity fraud detection and verification systems

• Conduct experiments and quantitative analyses to measure impact and identify improvement areas

• Create methods to analyze tradeoffs and optimize new interventions

• Produce clear, accurate research reports with effective data visualizations for cross-functional teams

• Strategically identify opportunities to enhance and scale identity verification processes and defenses

4. Requirements:

• 5+ years in quantitative analysis with a Master’s degree, or 2+ years with a Ph.D., in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, or economics

• Expertise in state-of-the-art AI/ML models

• Strong understanding of causal inference

• Proficiency in statistical programming (Python or R) and SQL

• Clear communication skills tailored to diverse technical audiences

• Ability to translate complex data into impactful narratives

• Strong project management, communication, and collaboration abilities

• Experience in Trust & Safety is a plus

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Pay Range $177,000—$208,000 USD

• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits
