Senior Data Scientist - Optimization

2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Data Scientist - Optimization will lead efforts to enhance supply chain replenishment and resource allocation strategies through advanced data science and optimization techniques. This role is essential for developing predictive models and algorithms that improve inventory management and reduce stockouts. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and data-driven solutions that directly impact supply chain efficiency. The role also includes mentoring peers and contributing to innovation within the data science team.

3. Responsibilities:

• Refactor optimization algorithms in Python using Object Oriented Programming

• Apply data science techniques to solve supply chain and optimization challenges in retail and CPG sectors

• Analyze large datasets using advanced statistical methods to optimize replenishment and inventory allocation

• Develop and implement predictive models and optimization algorithms for inventory and resource management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions

• Design and conduct experiments to test replenishment and allocation strategies

• Monitor KPIs related to replenishment and supply chain, providing recommendations for improvement

• Stay updated on industry trends in data science, replenishment optimization, and supply chain management

• Collaborate with and mentor other data scientists

4. Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, specializing in supply chain optimization and inventory allocation

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, or related field

• Experience with mathematical programming solvers such as Gurobi, Xpress MP, CPLEX, or Google OR Tools

• Strong understanding of statistical methods, optimization techniques, and predictive modeling

• Proficiency in Python, Pyspark, SQL, and relevant data analysis and machine learning libraries

• Ability to apply analytical models to business problems

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage business stakeholders and deliver solutions
