About the Opportunity:
The organization is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specializing in customer intent and decision engine development. The role focuses on building intelligent systems that model customer intent and dynamically resolve identity in real time. The position involves designing hybrid models that incorporate behavioral prediction and causal reasoning, enabling personalized experiences across search, fulfillment, and digital commerce.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement decision engines that resolve customer identity and intent in real time.
• Develop optimization frameworks using multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, and constrained optimization.
• Build session-based and sequence-aware models to capture evolving customer intent.
• Incorporate multimodal data into unified intent prediction pipelines.
• Deploy models for real-time, low-latency inference at scale.
• Define evaluation metrics and lead online experimentation to validate model impact.
• Apply counterfactual evaluation to measure causal impact of identity decisions.
• Translate technical insights into recommendations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product managers to align decision engine outputs with business objectives.
• Communicate model performance to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure production readiness of models with monitoring, retraining schedules, and A/B testing.
• Implement feature stores and model registries for experimentation and deployment.
Requirements:
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI with a record of delivering production systems.
• Proficiency in hybrid modeling techniques.
• Experience with deep learning, sequence models, transformers, and recommender systems.
• Familiarity with simulation and mathematical programming (MIP, agent simulation, LP).
• Strong background in causal inference and counterfactual reasoning.
• Experience with real-time recommendation systems using session-based modeling, embeddings, reinforcement learning.
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning or contextual bandits.
• Experience integrating models into enterprise backend systems for search, fulfillment, customer support, and personalization.
