About the Role

The Security Software Engineer, Infrastructure Security (Staff or Senior) will design and develop scalable security controls and services for the organization’s multi-cloud infrastructure platform. This role is essential in maintaining high security standards by building core security features and integrating security into infrastructure automation and development workflows. The position collaborates across engineering teams and leads complex projects to enhance the security posture and operational resilience of the infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security primitives and services protecting compute, networking, and identity across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Develop secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security features, Kubernetes, and eBPF to enforce runtime policies and monitor systems
• Create APIs, automation, and tools for managing security posture at scale, including CSPM and vulnerability management
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows using Terraform
• Lead projects from initial problem discovery through design, implementation, rollout, and long-term ownership
• Collaborate with SRE, platform, and product teams to define secure architectures for new infrastructure and services

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles with relevant security experience
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Golang, Rust, Python, or C/C++
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform for automating security configurations
• Strong understanding of Linux and networking concepts and their interaction in complex systems
• Experience building security-related features or platforms (e.g., runtime monitoring, CSPM, or vulnerability management)
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their security best practices
• Experience with Kubernetes security components, including RBAC, OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno, eBPF, Falco, or Tetragon
• Systems-oriented mindset addressing failure modes, performance, observability, and security together
• Strong communication skills to explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Compensation

• Salary Range: $127,000 — $249,000 USD annually
• Compensation is unique to each candidate and based on factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location.
