About the Opportunity:
The organization provides a platform to simplify building and scaling in-app subscriptions, serving as a leading monetization solution for mobile applications with significant market presence and annual purchase volume. The engineering manager role focuses on designing, building, shipping, and supporting features to help developers grow their businesses, emphasizing hands-on technical leadership, product focus, and team development.
Responsibilities:
• Build and lead a highly engaged distributed team through hiring, support, and coaching for consistent impact
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and support teams to set direction and plan for strategic and scaling challenges
• Oversee the iterative execution of the roadmap and establish efficient, transparent delivery processes
• Coach and mentor engineers for professional development
• Work with other engineering managers to improve the organization and foster ownership, belonging, and inclusivity
• Get up to speed on technical projects, team expertise, and iterative development processes within the first month
• Ship major features, deliver quarterly planning, and define milestones with the team within the first three months
• Establish and refine processes for reliable and fast shipping, and champion technical improvements within six months
• Build domain knowledge, establish communication guidelines, and support team growth and hiring within 12 months
Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer
• 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
• Experience building prioritized roadmaps through cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to balance shipping new features, managing technical debt, and system improvements
• Hands-on approach with code reviews and bug investigations as needed
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience with iterative development cycles and delivering quality software
• Technical leadership with the ability to guide engineers in decision-making
• Experience coaching engineers at different levels in their career development
• Strong customer focus, prioritizing outcomes and experiences
