2. About the Opportunity:
The Data Scientist role focuses on applying statistical analysis and machine learning to develop and maintain models that solve complex business problems. This position collaborates closely with machine learning engineers to ensure models are production-ready, monitored, and continuously improved. The role is critical in generating actionable insights, monitoring deployed algorithms, and driving business and product recommendations based on real-world model performance.
3. Responsibilities:
• Develop, validate, and tune statistical and machine learning models.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure production-ready model design.
• Design experiments and evaluate models using robust statistical methods.
• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor product efficacy and distribute insights.
• Monitor deployed models for drift, accuracy, and reliability.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on model performance.
• Recommend retraining or refinement strategies.
• Translate model results into actionable business and product recommendations.
• Identify opportunities for model improvements to increase revenue and reduce costs.
• Communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work alongside machine learning engineers for smooth research-to-deployment handoff.
• Mentor team members on applied ML and production readiness.
• Contribute to data science standards and operational playbooks.
4. Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience applying machine learning and statistics to business problems.
• Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with production machine learning environments and workflows.
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Strong background in statistical methods, experimental design, and data visualization (Looker).
• Proficient in SQL (Snowflake) and collaboration with data engineering teams.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS).
• Understanding of APIs, model deployment, and monitoring practices.
• Familiarity with R, Java, and Go.
• Excellent communication skills bridging technical and business contexts.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive ownership.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and balance quick iterations with scalable solutions.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Data Scientist: $125,000 – $140,000
• Senior Data Scientist: $150,000 – $170,000
• Offered salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and interview performance.
