About the Opportunity:
Data is more than numbers—it’s the key to smarter decisions, sharper strategies, and unlocking growth. As the third member of the data team, this role will play a pivotal part in scaling the analytics foundation and shaping the organization’s data culture.
Collaboration with teams across marketing, product, operations, and sales will be essential to design scalable data models, uncover actionable insights, and influence strategy at the highest levels. The work will directly guide decision-making and fuel growth.
What You’ll Do:
• Scale the data foundation: Build and maintain clean, reliable, and scalable datasets in SQL (BigQuery) and Python (DBT).
• Drive strategic insights: Develop predictive models, analytical frameworks, and A/B tests that inform company strategy.
• Create visibility: Deliver dashboards and reporting that give teams clarity on performance and KPIs.
• Influence decisions: Translate complex analyses into compelling stories that inspire action across leadership and teams.
• Shape data culture: Champion best practices in experimentation, data governance, and storytelling; mentor colleagues and guide adoption of scalable BI processes.
Who You Are:
You are someone who thrives in dynamic environments, owns complex challenges, and drives measurable business impact. Additionally, this team is looking for someone with:
• 3-4 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
• Advanced SQL skills and expertise in building scalable data models (ETL infrastructure).
• Proficiency with Python for analysis, modeling, and experimentation.
• Experience creating dashboards and visualizations in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
• Exceptional data storytelling and communication skills—you simplify complexity and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong business acumen—you understand how data connects to revenue, customer behavior, and operational efficiency.
• A self-starter mindset; comfortable working in ambiguity and adapting to fast-changing priorities.
• Bonus points:
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Familiarity with marketing analytics, funnel optimization, or product analytics.
• Previous startup experience.
• Experience with predictive modeling in Python.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $145,000 USD annually for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area (this is considered the organization’s virtual home base). Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.
