The team collaborates across credit, finance, enterprise risk management, and business lines to provide data-driven insights. The organization supports flexible work locations across multiple offices and remote settings.

2. About the Opportunity:

The Data Scientist - Credit Analytics is responsible for leading data science projects that enhance credit risk assessment and reporting. This role directly influences credit risk models and portfolio reporting, providing actionable insights that support decision-making. The position requires collaboration with multiple departments and aims to quickly contribute to the credit analytics function by developing and maintaining models and dashboards that evaluate portfolio risk.

3. Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects to understand credit risk stakeholder needs and analyze portfolio credit risk trends
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain credit risk models and data science solutions
  • Monitor and assess model performance continuously
  • Create and update advanced portfolio credit risk dashboards
  • Develop expertise in the organization’s data systems to build datasets for model development
  • Support enterprise data quality initiatives
  • Recommend improvements to analytics and data processes
  • Maintain procedures and documentation for projects
  • Follow model risk management and AI governance best practices
  • Provide user support for credit analytics models and reports

4. Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of statistics, machine learning, econometrics, and time series analysis
  • Domain expertise in lending, economics, finance, or related fields
  • Understanding of model validation and risk management principles
  • Proficiency in Python (preferred) or R, SQL, git, and related programming tools
  • Research skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Experience with Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or similar visualization tools
  • Self-starter with critical thinking and strong communication skills
  • Experience writing well-documented, reusable code and model documentation
  • Three to seven years of relevant professional experience in data science, credit modeling, or econometric analysis
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
  • Knowledge of geospatial analytics and experience with Microsoft Azure are advantages

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • The typical starting salary range is $115,000 to $160,000, varying by experience and geography
  • Includes performance-based bonus and equity-based awards
  • Individual compensation will be commensurate with experience
