About the Opportunity:
The organization is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen and safeguard its technology infrastructure, applications, and data.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain security tools and solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection.
• Monitor networks, applications, and systems for security threats, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and respond to security alerts, incidents, and breaches, ensuring timely remediation and documentation.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans.
• Partner with IT teams to apply patches, updates, and secure configurations.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
• Implement identity and access management controls, including multifactor authentication and role-based access.
• Assist with compliance initiatives such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, or other regulatory frameworks.
• Support employee security awareness training and promote a culture of cybersecurity.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to proactively strengthen defenses.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3 or more years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related IT security roles.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices for AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN, as well as encryption methods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Security certifications like CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC preferred.
