Backend Engineer III - Charlotte AI (Remote, EST)

About the Opportunity:

The organization is a leader in cybersecurity, developing large-scale, distributed systems and providing AI-native security solutions across industries. This opportunity is for a Cloud Software Engineer to join the AI Engineering Team, focusing on building scalable, fault-tolerant cloud ecosystems using Golang and Large Language Models.

Responsibilities:

• Develop backend microservices, identifying and resolving critical issues.

• Build cloud solutions for cyber threat detection using established tools and services.

• Research and implement Large Language Models to enhance AI security capabilities.

• Design, maintain, and improve data pipelines and support custom LLM training and deployment.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver solutions.

• Engage in continuous learning and improvement.

• Seek opportunities to improve customer support and service.

• Ensure high coding standards through best practices, testing, logging, and metrics.

• Participate in agile, collaborative team processes.

• Mentor and learn from fellow engineers.

• Propose improvements to architecture, models, user experience, and reliability.

• Take ownership of work from development to deployment and monitoring.

• Contribute to a trust-based team environment.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in data structures, algorithms, or distributed systems.

• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, or agentic systems.

• Experience with big data and microservices.

• Understanding of scalability in distributed systems (sharding, partitioning, concurrency).

• Ability to work effectively as a team member.

• Knowledge of engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and robust architecture.

• Experience in a test-driven, collaborative, iterative development environment.

• Ability to meet commitments and deliver high-quality, regularly integrated software.
