AI Data Scientist - Previous Pharma experience

Based in Spain - Hybrid/Remote

6 Month contract+

We’re seeking a contract Data Scientist with hands-on experience in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI to join a global pharma leader driving the next wave of innovation in healthcare.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Design, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs (e.g. GPT, LLaMA, Claude) for use cases such as:
• Literature summarisation, medical insights extraction, and automated reporting
• Generative modelling for drug discovery or biomarker identification
• Intelligent search across scientific publications and internal datasets
• Collaborate with domain experts to ensure models are medically relevant, explainable, and compliant
• Evaluate model performance and apply prompt engineering, retrieval augmentation (RAG), and fine-tuning as needed

✅ Requirements:

• Proven experience applying LLMs or Gen AI in real-world environments (ideally within pharma, life sciences, or healthcare)
• Strong skills in Python, ML libraries (Transformers, LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs), and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with biomedical datasets, ontologies (e.g., UMLS, MeSH), or regulatory considerations is a plus
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with data, science, and product teams
