UI Systems Designer

UI/UX - UX Designer

• Location: United Kingdom - remote (only remote from the UK !!!)

• Contract: 6-7 months

We are looking for an experienced UI UX Designer to support a design systems team during a maternity leave cover. This role involves owning and maintaining component libraries, digital assets, and design tooling to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across multiple platforms. The position requires close collaboration with designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve production design processes to ensure operational excellence and high-quality output
• Maintain, scale, and document large libraries of design system components and digital assets
• Create and update detailed component files with precise specifications
• Partner with designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless handoff and collaboration
• Conduct design audits across iOS, Android, and web platforms to guarantee pixel-perfect execution
• Provide expert production support for illustrations, icons, motion, and other visual assets
• Troubleshoot and resolve design file issues, including component variants and structure
• Introduce and implement innovative tooling and workflow solutions, including automation and AI-driven approaches

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of professional design experience
• At least 3 years working with design systems at scale
• Strong visual design skills with a proven eye for detail
• Experience designing for both iOS and Android mobile systems (minimum 3 years)
• Advanced expertise in Figma (Auto Layout, Libraries, Tokens)
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar production tools
• Experience managing file systems and versioning tools (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, GitHub)
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic markup
• Experience building large-scale design systems in a major tech environment
• Prototyping and motion design capability
• Experience leveraging AI or emerging tools to improve design workflows
• Strong communication and documentation skills for scaling knowledge within teams
