Texas Lab Technologies is seeking a highly creative and design-focused Web & E-commerce Designer with strong expertise in WordPress and Shopify platforms. This role prioritizes design excellence, demanding an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for delivering polished, brand-aligned, and user-friendly websites. The ideal candidate is proactive in bringing creative direction and fresh ideas to enhance the company's growing portfolio of brands. Strong knowledge of current web and e-commerce trends, UX/UI principles, and responsive design is essential for success in this position.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and continuously improving WordPress and Shopify websites. You will translate brand guidelines into compelling digital experiences, create engaging layouts and concepts with design tools such as Figma, and optimize websites for performance and user engagement. While this role does not involve managing a team, you will take ownership of multiple projects, ensuring high-quality results and meeting deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new websites, individual pages, and landing pages on WordPress and Shopify platforms.
• Maintain and enhance existing websites by implementing design improvements and functional updates.
• Translate brand guidelines into cohesive, visually compelling digital experiences that reflect brand identity accurately.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using design tools like Figma to communicate design concepts effectively.
• Build and manage WordPress and Shopify sites using their respective themes and plugins, ensuring seamless functionality.
• Develop strong product, collection, category, and landing pages that drive engagement and conversion.
• Improve website navigation and optimize user journeys to enhance overall user experience on both desktop and mobile devices.
• Ensure all designs are fully responsive, providing an optimal viewing and interaction experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Conduct regular website reviews to identify and implement opportunities for design and performance enhancements.
• Research competitor websites and industry trends to stay informed about the latest developments in e-commerce and digital design.
• Introduce innovative ideas and inspiration derived from market research to elevate the creative direction of projects.
• Support website optimization initiatives, focusing on performance, loading speeds, SEO best practices, and conversion rate optimization.
• Pay close attention to detail by maintaining consistent typography, spacing, imagery, and visual hierarchy across all digital assets.
• Utilize knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Shopify Liquid to troubleshoot and customize website functionalities when necessary.
• Collaborate with marketing and content teams to ensure web content aligns with brand messaging and audience needs.
• Maintain high standards of quality control by thoroughly checking websites for responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising design quality.
• Stay updated with emerging digital design trends, e-commerce practices, and technology tools to continuously improve skills and output.
• Provide detailed documentation and clear communication on design decisions and development processes.
