What Will You Do 😎

As a (Senior) Data Scientist at re:cap, you will build, ship, and own data-powered features that drive our funding products and SaaS applications. You’ll turn financial data into reliable features, develop and productionize models, and collaborate closely with Engineering and Product to deliver measurable value for our customers.

Your contribution to our success 🤓

• Data Product Development: Build data products that are tightly integrated into our customer-facing applications, together with our Engineering team
• Machine Learning and AI Implementation: Own the full lifecycle of machine learning models and AI solutions to automate financial operations for our customers and generate insights
• Analytics & Decision Support: Explore and analyze complex datasets to generate actionable insights, define metrics, run experiments, and communicate clear narratives that inform product and commercial decisions
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to integrate data solutions into our SaaS platform and funding products
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and ensure that data initiatives support their objectives
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor teammates, lead by example through code reviews and documentation, and help evolve our data platform and working methods

Who we are looking for 🕵🏽‍♀️

• You have 4+ years of experience in Data Science and/or ML Engineering

• You have extensive experience with the end-to-end lifecycle of predictive/prescriptive models, from problem framing and data discovery through production deployment and ongoing monitoring and maintenance. This includes:

• Strong data modeling and SQL skills

• Extensive experience using the Python ML and DS ecosystem

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (GCP, AWS, Azure)

• Experience with orchestration (Dagster, Airflow, Luigi), warehousing (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks), and ELT (Airbyte, Fivetran) technologies

• You can quickly build a prototype, but you are also capable of incrementally evolving it into a production-ready application

• You have built and shipped LLM-powered features using techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation, similarity search, structured extraction, and routing

• You can structure and optimize processes to measure and continuously enhance data quality and machine learning pipelines

• You understand data architectures that can handle high-volume data pipelines and analytics

• You are innovative and forward-thinking, with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance financial insight

• You have a collaborative mindset and thrive in a dynamic startup environment

• You are fluent in English, German is a plus

• You have a valid EU work permit and reside within the EU. re:cap does not offer visa or relocation support at the moment
