About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Web Developer & Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will own websites end-to-end, from design and development to launch and ongoing maintenance, across both WordPress and fully custom builds. You will work closely with our SEO team to deliver fast, search-friendly websites, and use AI coding tools to work faster while keeping quality high.

What You Will Do

• Design website layouts and user experiences, and turn them into responsive, mobile-first websites
• Build and maintain WordPress websites (themes, custom blocks and plugins) for clients and our own brand
• Build fully custom websites and web tools from scratch, covering front end and back end (databases, forms, integrations and APIs)
• Monitor and improve site speed, Core Web Vitals and technical SEO, and track results with the SEO team
• Manage hosting, deployment, backups and website security
• Work with the SEO team, account managers and clients to scope, plan and deliver web projects on time
• Use AI coding tools to speed up development, while testing and reviewing all output before release

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in web development, including WordPress websites and fully custom websites built from scratch. A portfolio of live sites you have designed and built is required.
• Web Design: Strong eye for layout, typography and UI/UX, with experience in Figma or a similar design tool.
• Front-End Skills: Solid HTML, CSS and JavaScript, plus experience with a modern framework such as React, Next.js or Astro.
• Back-End Skills: Solid PHP and MySQL (or a similar database), with experience building forms, integrations and APIs.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with WordPress (Elementor or similar page builders), Git, hosting and deployment, and AI coding tools.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to read performance data (page speed, Core Web Vitals, Google Search Console), identify issues and fix them quickly.
• Communication: Clear, direct, and professional communication in written and spoken English.
• Ownership & Drive: High attention to detail with the ability to manage web projects independently from design to launch.

Good to Have

• Experience working in an agency environment or fast-paced startup setting.
• Understanding of technical SEO: redirects, schema markup, rendering and site migrations.
• Experience with Node.js, headless WordPress or a headless CMS.
• Familiarity with automation workflows or AEO/SEO practices.
