Role Overview: Senior Social Media Manager / Head of Social Media (Volunteer)
Join our team in this remote volunteer leadership role and help amplify Radia's voice across digital platforms. You'll develop and execute our social media strategy to grow our community, showcase our events, and advance our mission of inclusion in tech.
What You'll Do:
- Design and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with our mission
- Create and curate engaging content that resonates with women in tech and allies
- Build and nurture our online community across LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant platforms
- Analyze performance metrics and optimize content for maximum engagement and reach
- Collaborate with our events and marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging
- Represent Radia's values in all external communications
- Lead a small team of social media volunteers, you can also build your own!
Who You Are:
- An experienced social media professional with 4+ years managing organizational accounts
- A strategic thinker who understands how to build audience engagement through compelling storytelling
- A creative content developer with excellent writing skills and attention to detail
- Data-savvy with experience using analytics to refine social media approaches
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Passionate about diversity, inclusion, and creating positive change in the tech industry
- Experienced with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, etc.)
- Skilled at developing authentic brand voice and community engagement strategies
Ideal Experience:
- Previous leadership of social media campaigns that successfully built community engagement
- Experience with event promotion and community building through digital channels
- Background in tech industry communications or DEI initiatives (diversity, equity, inclusion)
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or equivalent practical experience
- Portfolio of successful social media campaigns and growth metrics
Time Commitment
Approximately 5hours per week, with flexibility around your schedule, if you will be able to automate all the processes, most likely less
