Graphic Designer - Quarterly
Before you apply
We get hundreds of applications. Most don't make it past the first 10 seconds. Here's how to make sure yours does:
Your portfolio is everything. Include a clear link to your online portfolio or attach a PDF. No portfolio, no review, no exceptions. We're not looking for a CV full of certifications, we're looking at your work.
You need real experience. At least three years working as part of an internal team, agency or with established brands as a freelancer. We need people who understand what it's like to own a brand day-to-day, not just dip in and out of one.
You must be based in South Africa. If you're not, your application will be automatically rejected. This isn't flexible. Our clients are UK-based, and we need our South African team working in a timezone that overlaps with theirs. South Africa gives us that. It also means you'll collaborate daily with the rest of our SA team.
If that's you, keep reading!
The role
Quarterly is an embedded design studio. We place dedicated senior designers inside our clients' teams, working in their tools, joining their calls, and delivering work every single day. Not as an agency. Not as freelancers. As an extension of their team.
We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our South Africa-based team. You'll be assigned to four clients and work across their brands daily, branding, social creative, presentations, web design, print, ads, packaging, and more. Think of it like being an in-house designer for four companies at once. You'll know their brands inside out. You'll talk to them directly. You'll be the person they rely on.
This isn't a ticket-in-a-queue kind of role. You'll manage your own workload, communicate proactively with your clients, and deliver work that makes them look good. It's fast, varied, and rewarding and you'll be backed by a team of creative leads who review every piece of work before it goes out.
What you'll do
You'll create on-brand, high-quality design work across a wide range of disciplines, logo and brand identity, digital ads, social content, marketing collateral, presentation design, print, packaging, web assets, and more.
You'll work within a dedicated design team of four to six designers, sharing ideas, proofing each other's work, and raising the bar together. You'll manage multiple projects at once, keeping clients informed and delivering on time. And you'll collaborate with designers, creative leads, and directors across the UK and South Africa.
Every brief is different. Every day moves quickly. If you like variety, ownership, and doing genuinely good work, you'll thrive here.
What we're looking for
Why Quarterly
You'll be part of a real team. 18 creatives across the UK and South Africa. Not a faceless platform. A studio that cares about craft, culture, and the people behind the work.
You'll work remotely. Fully remote setup, work from wherever you do your best work.
You'll grow. Workshops, mentorship from creative leads, and genuine opportunities to develop your career. You'll learn from talented people every single day.
You'll be trusted. No micromanagement. No egos. We hire good people and let them do good work. We're honest with each other, we back each other up, and we hold ourselves to a high standard.
You'll have impact. This is a profitable, growing studio, not a bloated agency. Your work matters here. Your voice is heard.
Pay and practicalities
Salary: R350,000–R450,000 per year, depending on experience.
Leave: 24 days annual leave, plus UK bank holidays.
Contract: This is a permanent role. As we don't have a registered entity in South Africa, payment is made via invoice. By applying, you confirm you're comfortable handling your own tax obligations under South African law.
Culture: A collaborative, multi-cultural team that takes the work seriously but doesn't take itself too seriously. Regular workshops, open feedback, and a genuine commitment to helping you get better at what you do.
How to apply
