The Project Manager – Payroll & Time & Attendance is responsible for leading and executing HR technology and operations projects, with a focus on payroll systems, time tracking, and related integrations. This role ensures successful delivery of initiatives by coordinating cross-functional teams, managing vendor relationships, and aligning project outcomes with business goals. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Workday, payroll systems, and project management methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with HR, IT, and external vendors.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle: requirements gathering, pilot implementation, automation, and full deployment.
Track progress, manage risks, and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely delivery.
Technical & Process Documentation
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and process maps.
Create and maintain documentation for integrations, interfaces, and system configurations.
Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure process alignment and readiness.
Team & Stakeholder Coordination
Lead cross-functional project teams and facilitate regular meetings.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure accountability across team members.
Prepare and deliver project updates, presentations, and reports to leadership and stakeholders.
Vendor & System Integration Management
Coordinate with external vendors and internal IT teams to implement and test system integrations.
Ensure seamless connectivity between Workday, payroll systems, and time & attendance platforms.
Risk & Change Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage change communications and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience:
MUST HAVE 5+ years of HR project management experience end to end payroll as well as other HR project experience
Hands-on experience with Workday, payroll platforms, and system integrations.
Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
