Geospatial Data Scientist

QAIrbon was founded during summer 2024 to address the regulatory CO2 market. Our ambition is to become the worldwide reference for the economic and environmental performance of industrial sites by providing industry, finance and institutions with the first measurement-based alternative to the current situation where all data are based on declarations and proxies.

The company has received significant institutional interest, with confirmed support for our development roadmap. The award of multiple projects enabled the growth of the team up to 12 people sharing the same motivation and with strong expertise in satellite remote sensing, industrial processes and economic and environmental intelligence.

Today, QAIrbon has developed strong technological and knowledge grounds and has started winning its first commercial contracts and aims for a ramp-up of its product offering.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a skilled Geospatial Data Scientist with experience in satellite imagery processing. Your goal will be to leverage satellite images from various sensors to activity from industrial plants. This is a key element in the monitoring of CO2 emissions of industries and will be used to accelerate QAIrbon’s commercial development.

You will be part of the Data Science team and will work closely with the product team to meet the market needs.

TARGETED PROFILE

The expected competence and expertise of the Geospatial Data Scientist who will join QAIrbon are:

·      Strong experience in satellite imagery processing (optical, radar) and knowledge of GIS softwares

·      Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis and processing with a focus on geospatial libraries

·      Experience with research projects and scientific literature

·      Familiarity with Gitlab and coding best practices

·      Knowledge of a cloud service (AWS, GCP) for storage and computing is a must

·      Rigor and curiosity are essential to understand the industrial processes at stake, and to design and implement smart and reliable activity monitoring techniques

·      Strong team fit within QAIrbon, sharing the team's motivation and drive

The position is based in Paris; remote working a few days a week is possible, under conditions to be agreed.
