Data Engineer

Job Overview:

The Data Engineer will be a member of the company’s IT team and will be responsible for

supporting and troubleshooting our catalog of databases and for designing and maintaining data

analytics and reporting using a variety of applications and tools. Must have the aptitude to

understand business processes, data modelling, and data delivery. Will troubleshoot issues with

company data/reports, and design new reports. Will coach and direct different departments thru

reporting system changes and data transformations. You will also act as a liaison between IT, HR,

Operations and Finance to mine necessary data. Will perform ad-hoc analysis to fulfill user

requests and report back on findings.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain a full scope of reporting solutions for the company

• Database maintenance, troubleshooting, support, and development.

• Deliver data in multiple presentation tools such as Microsoft’s BI Power Platform, Excel and SQL Server Reporting Services

• Create efficient and accurate data models from disparate data sources

• Coach people in using the company’s reporting system, encouraging them to take ownership of their business processes and business data

• Conduct ad hoc analyses for user requests

• Collaborates with developers to architect, build and maintain systems to support good business processes

• Serve as point of contact for reporting requests.

• Good technical understanding and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle multiple priorities.

• Experience working on large-scale projects and handling day-to-day operational requests

from the business

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Microsoft Power BI Developer or Data Scientist

• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. data modeling and data mining

• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing

(OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

• Experience with BI technologies, Power BI, Power Automate, Power App, SharePoint

• Experience SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

• Experience with Azure and AWS

• Experience with PHP would be a plus.
