The Role

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer specializing in Pimcore, Symfony, and React.js on behalf of our client to build and scale a modern, cloud-native insurance platform for policy management and digital customer services. In this role, you will join an agile product team responsible for driving end-to-end feature delivery, modernizing core system capabilities, and transitioning legacy components toward a microservices-based, containerized environment running on Azure Kubernetes.

You will bridge robust backend data management with modern user interfaces. You will handle complex data structures inside Pimcore, implement secure enterprise integrations with third-party ERPs, manage high-volume asynchronous batch workflows, and maintain clean front-end application states in React.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience using PHP, with proven hands-on expertise building and customizing enterprise applications using Pimcore and the Symfony framework.
• Strong proficiency with React.js, modular component architectures, modern state management, and building responsive, high-performance web applications.
• Demonstrated track record of designing, building, and consuming RESTful and XML APIs to connect core business applications with enterprise third-party platforms (e.g., SAP, Abacus, IBS).
• Practical experience designing background workers, queue-based job scheduling, and handling heavy asynchronous data processing tasks efficiently.
• Strong daily proficiency with Docker-based local development environments, Git-based workflows, and automated release practices.
• Proven experience delivering production features within structured Scrum team environments, actively contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and peer code reviews.
• Intermediate-advanced English.
• Time zone: CET (+/- 3 hours). We are unable to consider applications from candidates in other time zones.

Nice-to-have:

• Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, or automated CI/CD configurations via Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Domain background in Insurance, FinTech, or financial services platforms.
• Prior experience integrating legacy enterprise ERP, billing, or core accounting systems.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and maintain secure, high-quality features across the entire technology stack using Pimcore, Symfony, and React.js.
• Actively contribute to refactoring legacy application modules into modern, maintainable services tailored for cloud execution.
• Build and support robust data pipelines and integrations with third-party systems (SAP, Abacus, IBS) using REST and XML interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and release management while leveraging Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
• Collaborate closely with distributed cross-functional engineers, product owners, and stakeholders using Scrum practices, Jira, and Confluence.
