The Role

We are looking for a Senior Elixir Software Engineer to join our fast-growing Network.

You will play a key role in designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs

using Phoenix and related technologies, collaborating closely with cross-functional

teams, and shaping the future of data-driven products across various platforms.

Our engagements are long-term and full-time. You’ll have the opportunity to work with

cutting-edge technologies and deliver impactful features in real products.

Main responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality backend systems and APIs using Elixir
• Apply OTP principles (processes, GenServers, supervision trees) to build concurrent, fault-tolerant applications
• Develop and maintain web applications and APIs with the Phoenix framework
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Model data and manage database interactions using Ecto and relational databases
• Contribute to architectural decisions and backend strategy
• Write clean, modular, and well-tested code, and troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate in an agile environment and stay up to date with best practices in the Elixir ecosystem

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with Elixir
• Strong understanding of functional programming principles and OTP concepts
• Hands-on experience with the Phoenix framework
• Strong understanding of designing and integrating RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Experience with testing tools and methodologies (e.g., ExUnit, property-based testing)
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results remotely

Nice to have

• Experience with Phoenix LiveView
• Experience with Ecto and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Experience with distributed systems and clustering on the BEAM
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with Erlang or other functional languages
• Passion for building robust, well-crafted software
