As the virtual assets industry is on the brink of mainstream adoption, the demand for services in this space far exceeds the capabilities of the traditional compliance providers. Provenance Ltd (‘Provenance’) has established service lines across the specialist functions of compliance, risk and advisory, with a focus on enhancing compliance and risk management solutions available to virtual asset Funds, Managers, Foundations, Service Providers, and other participants in the virtual asset industry.
Provenance aims to provide holistic, automated and cost-effective control frameworks to ensure compliance with the Financial Action Task Force and local jurisdictional regulatory frameworks and Virtual Asset Service Provider (‘VASP’) regimes.
Job Description – Marketing Manager
Provenance is looking for an ambitious and proactive B2B Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing remote team in South Africa and establish a marketing foundation for our growing company. As the first hire in this function, the candidate will have the unique opportunity to build and execute marketing strategies from the ground up, driving growth in the fintech, Web3, crypto, and blockchain space. There is no playbook so the candidate will be responsible for launching new channels of communication and lead Marketing experimentation with a strong team of senior leaders.
As we are operating in a start-up environment, we would also need the successful candidate to ensure deadlines are met, pipelines are being sufficiently monitored and actioned, and that client’s queries are being attended to in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
· Marketing Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive B2B marketing strategies tailored to a global market that spans regulated VASPs and Investment Funds, as well as the wider Web3 and De-Fi target audience.
· Campaign Execution: Lead the creation and execution of multi-channel campaigns, including digital advertising, email marketing, content marketing, and webinars.
· Content Creation & Branding: Develop compelling, industry-relevant content such as whitepapers, case studies, blogs, and social media posts to establish Provenance as a thought leader in the compliance for crypto space.
· Data-Driven Insights: Analyze marketing performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimize campaigns and maximize ROI.
· Sales Collaboration: Partner closely with sales and product teams to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and drive lead generation.
· CRM and Automation: Manage CRM tools Zoho / Mailchimp and marketing automation platforms (Lemlist, LinkedIn Pro) to nurture leads through the sales funnel.
· Event Management: Organize and manage industry events, webinars, and conferences to increase visibility and build relationships.
· Market Research: Stay updated on trends and innovations in Compliance, AML, Web3, blockchain, and crypto to ensure relevance in marketing initiatives.
Requirements
· 3-5 years of experience in B2B marketing, ideally within institutional firms such as big4 Accounting, Law Firms, Financial Services or other Professional Service Providers.
· Strong interest in and understanding of Web3, crypto, blockchain, and the broader fintech ecosystem.
· Proficiency in graphic design, in both still and moving digital formats.
· Experience building marketing strategies and campaigns from scratch, with a proven track record of success.
· Proficiency in digital marketing tools, including SEO, PPC, and social media platforms.
· Hands-on experience with marketing automation and CRM systems.
· Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for a technical audience.
· Analytical mindset, with expertise in measuring and reporting campaign performance.
· Entrepreneurial spirit, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, startup environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

As Provenance operates across various time zones, a reasonable amount of flexibility is required from the successful candidate to avail themselves for client and internal meetings outside traditional working hours in their place of residence. This expectation will be managed by the founders and the team lead in a fair manner and will never be to the detriment of the successful candidate.
