About This Role
We're seeking a talented Mid-Level UX Designer to join our growing design team. In this role, you'll independently lead design projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to create exceptional user experiences. You'll own the complete design process for key features and product areas, balancing user needs with business objectives to deliver impactful solutions.
This position is ideal for an experienced designer ready to take on greater ownership and help mentor junior team members while continuing to grow their strategic design thinking skills.
What You'll Do
Lead Design Projects
- Own the complete UX design process for assigned features or product areas from concept to implementation
- Make independent design decisions while collaborating with stakeholders for input and feedback
- Define and document comprehensive design requirements and specifications
- Present design solutions to leadership and defend your design rationale with confidence
Drive User-Centered Design
- Plan and execute user research studies including interviews, surveys, and usability testing
- Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and design recommendations
- Create and maintain user personas, journey maps, design system and other essential UX artifacts
- Analyze user behavior data to identify opportunities for experience improvements
- Validate design decisions through iterative testing and refinement
Create Exceptional Experiences
- Design comprehensive wireframes, user flows, and information architecture
- Develop detailed mockups and interactive prototypes that bring ideas to life
- Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive design principles
- Create responsive designs optimized for multiple devices and screen sizes
- Contribute to and help maintain our design system components and guidelines
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner closely with product managers to refine requirements and project scope
- Work with engineering teams to ensure accurate and high-quality implementation
- Facilitate design reviews and incorporate stakeholder feedback effectively
- Communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and business audiences
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning sessions
Mentor and Grow
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to junior UX designers on the team
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing, best practices, and design process improvements
- Participate in design critiques and offer constructive feedback to teammates
- Help establish and refine design workflows and standards
What You'll Bring
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of professional UX design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proven experience working effectively in agile development environments
- Track record of successfully leading design projects from concept to launch
Technical Expertise
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or similar design tools
- Strong experience with prototyping tools such as InVision, Principle, or Framer
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and development constraints
- Hands-on experience with user research tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, etc.)
Core Design Skills
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
- Strong information architecture and interaction design capabilities
- Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and commitment to inclusive design
- Experience with design systems and component-based design approaches
- Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design methodologies
Personal Qualities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while thriving in collaborative team environments
- Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects
