Senior Data Scientist/ Optimization

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist who is passionate about solving real-world optimization problems and driving efficiency in supply chain, logistics, and inventory management. This position requires strong analytical and mathematical modeling skills, coupled with experience in operations research and data-driven decision-making processes.

As a key member of our data science team, you will design and implement optimization solutions to streamline operations, improve demand forecasting, and optimize inventory allocation across our network.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement optimization models for logistics, inventory, and distribution challenges.

· Design solutions using techniques such as linear programming, mixed-integer programming, stochastic optimization, and evolutionary algorithms.

· Analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights and improve operational efficiency.

· Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and business teams to identify optimization opportunities.

· Build and deploy tools for demand forecasting and inventory optimization to enhance decision-making.

· Leverage machine learning and statistical methods for predictive modeling and simulation.

·Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Optimization Specialist.

• Strong background in Operations Research, Supply Chain Analytics, or Logistics Optimization.

• Proficiency in optimization techniques: linear programming, MIP, heuristics, and simulation modeling.

• Hands-on experience with optimization tools and libraries such as:

• Gurobi, CPLEX, PuLP, or OR-Tools.

• Advanced programming skills in Python (NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Pyomo) or R.

• Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.

• Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning techniques for forecasting (time-series) and decision support.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or manufacturing industries.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for model deployment.

• Background in prescriptive analytics and simulation-based optimization.
