Qualifications:
Associate's or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) and 6+ years work experience or equivalent experience. Proven experience as an IT professional. Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred. Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required. Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language. Basic leadership skills preferred. Excellent time management skills preferred. Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Must have the desire and ability to learn new technology and continuously grow. Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners. Some travel may be required, including overnight stays. May be required to provide on-call support.

Responsibilities:
Independently conduct analysis and development, requirements, coding, automated testing, debugging, designing, documentation, quality assurance review, implementation and maintenance. Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and trade-offs in the area. Demonstrate independence working in more than one system. Participate in technical design of features. Focus on attaining expertise in more technical areas.
• Please describe the project work, and what do day-to-day responsibilities look like:
a. The day to day responsibilities are monitoring and assisting with the service delivery queue. It consist of request from customers across the enterprise. This we give you the ability to learn about different products and have variability in your day. On-call day will include being available for issue that require immediate assistance from customer calls and pages?

• What skills are you looking for in the ideal candidate?
a. Preferred
i. 1. Experience with administration of Java application runtime environments, preferably IBM WebSphere and/or IBM WebSphere Liberty (administration of, not necessarily developing and deploying application to)
ii. 2. Proficiency with Unix command line, shell scripting
iii. 3. Strong communication skills
iv. 4.Ability to work both in team settings and in a self-directed environment
b. Nice to Have
i. 1. Ansible experience
ii. 2. Programming experience in a language like Java or Python
iii. 3. Experience with using Source Code Management tools

• How long is this contract expected to last? Is there a possibility of extension beyond this date? 1 year. The possibility exist but all depending on business needs.
• What does the interview process look like for this opening? The interview consist of a single session with two parts
a. First the formal interview with product owner, scrum master and an engineer from the team.
b. Coding exercise
• It will be over video and require the candidate to screen share during the coding exercise.
