Junior Product Engineer

The Mission

At Elyx, the Product Engineer sits at the intersection of engineering speed and customer value. You will build the systems and automation that accelerate our product development lifecycle. Your goal is to minimize the time from a validated customer need to a high-value, released product while ensuring measurable impact at every stage.

The Challenge

As a core contributor to product delivery, you will codify customer empathy and business requirements into automated processes. You will develop frameworks to:

- Deeply Understand: Analyze both internal stakeholders and external users.

- Validate: Build automated prototypes to test assumptions quickly.

- Prioritize: Identify the highest-impact problems to solve.

- Communicate: Ensure alignment across the team on insights, decisions, and priorities.

What You’ll Do

You will facilitate and automate the entire product development cycle while codifying the principles of the Elyx Product:

- Triaging: Identify bottlenecks from ideation to deployment and build tools, agents, and frameworks to remove them. Automate Feature Request collection and draft User Stories from research transcripts where applicable.

- User Stories & Interactions: Translate user research and market analysis into actionable engineering specifications with measurable success metrics. Ensure development tasks align with accepted User Stories and Detailed User Interactions.

- Rapid Prototyping: Support the definition and management of the product roadmap, ensuring each change delivers business and customer value. Work closely with the Product Manager on acceptance criteria, prototypes, and validation.

- Product Tooling: Develop internal platforms to empower PMs and designers to work autonomously and efficiently. This includes UX Flow Testing with mock data, managing the prototype validation process, and maintaining UX consistency.

Required Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for Junior talent (fresh grads or early-career) who meet the following criteria:

- Product Company Experience: 1+ year in a product-focused company within the last 3 years.

- Healthcare Domain Knowledge: At least 6 months of experience with healthcare data, including wearables, diagnostics, or medical records.

- Open-Source or Writing: Maintain a public repository or blog (repo ≥6 months old, original work; blog ≥1000 words).

- Company Tenure: No more than 3 years at a large company (]100 employees) in the past 5 years.

- CS Fundamentals: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical knowledge.

- End-to-End Ownership: Demonstrated ability to contribute to a product from concept to launch.

- Data Literacy: Comfortable defining and analyzing metrics (A/B testing, engagement, conversion).

- Modern Methodology: Familiarity with CI/CD, feature flagging, and developer tooling.

- AI Native: Experience using AI agents to write code and articulate their current limitations.

Bonus:

Background as a Product Manager with engineering experience or vice versa, particularly focused on software products.
