Senior Software Engineer

This team has developed a native Flutter app, used by all TELCO field engineers as well as field engineers of wholesale service providers. This Engineer App supports the field engineers in their primary tasks. They use it for troubleshooting or installation activities, for changing and activating equipment at customer premises, for navigating to customer or TELCO locations, for infra activities in the TELCO copper and fiber access network infrastructure etc.. The Engineer App development team is part of the Service Experience unit in which similar capabilities are developed for other customer touchpoints (online (web), MijnTELCO app, call center and backoffice organization, conversational agent). We continuously strive to enhance the Engineer app with new cool features so that the field engineers can surprise the customers by finishing their tasks first-time-right with the best customer experience. We have a very active group of beta testers with whom we interact every 2 weeks to prioritize their problems, jointly define the best functional solution and test the developed features.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and support the daily work of field engineers. You are eager to understand their needs and capable of interacting with them regularly to translate those requirements into functional solutions. You have a strong ‘can-do’ mentality and are passionate about both innovation and operational activities. In this role, you will take ownership of the full DevOps lifecycle, design, development, ensuring efficient CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and robust monitoring. You will be working in a DevOps scrum team, following agile methodologies and collaborating with other teams—both locally and remotely.

We’re looking for someone with excellent analytical abilities, a strong team-player mentality, and the ability to communicate effectively in English (and preferably Dutch). You are self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to delivering quality software while contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What do we expect from you?

• Strong hands-on experience with Java or other JVM-based languages (e.g., Kotlin, Scala)
• Proven experience in cloud environments, with a strong preference for AWS.
• Solid background in software design and system architecture.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and monitoring/observability tools (Elastic Stack, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong DevOps mindset – able to build, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot systems independently.
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Passion for learning, adaptability, and a proactive attitude toward solving problems.

Nice to have

• Dutch speaking
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and serverless technologies.
• Experience with Flutter
• Automated deployments with CICD using Infrastructure as code such as Cloud Formation, Terraform etc.
• Mobile Apps development experience
• Experience using Github Actions
• AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, DevOps Engineer).
