Principal Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Remote- travel 1-2x annually

Compensation $160,000–$200,000 base salary

Looking for your next big technical challenge? Our HealthTech client is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead architecture and development for a high-impact virtual care platform. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building scalable, secure, and intuitive systems that improve how people access and deliver healthcare.

What You’ll Do

• Lead backend architecture and development using Ruby on Rails
• Build and optimize frontend experiences with React
• Set technical direction and elevate code quality across the team
• Collaborate with product, design, and domain experts to solve complex problems
• Drive adoption of new tools and best practices
• Contribute to long-term product and platform strategy

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of full-stack development experience
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails
• Proficiency with React or similar JavaScript frameworks
• Strong architectural and systems thinking
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
• Bonus: familiarity with healthcare systems, EHR integrations, or real-time systems
