About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of product strategy, technical architecture, and execution at scale. You will drive critical programs that span multiple engineering teams, guiding product strategy with a deep technical understanding of distributed systems, data infrastructure, and user-centric design. This role requires a visionary leader who is both a builder and a collaborator, capable of aligning cross-functional teams around high-impact initiatives.
What You Will Do
Discovery & Technical Definition
- Partner with Product and Engineering to own and define strategic initiatives and explore scalable technical solutions.
- Lead early-stage technical investigations, feasibility assessments, and solution trade-off reviews.
- Ensure every program is rooted in clear goals, constraints, and measurable outcomes.
- Drive and co-author system design documents that clarify intent, complexity, and ownership.
Road mapping & Planning
- Own and define the product roadmap, translating technical goals into executable delivery plans—defining milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements.
- Align engineering workstreams with company OKRs and product strategy.
- Proactively identify blockers and structural risks to delivery; re-plan before the train derails.
- Estimate development effort, assess risks, and sequence features for maximum impact
- Define or validate success metrics to ensure delivery maps to measurable business and technical outcomes.
Execution & Program Leadership
- Drive end-to-end technical program delivery across multiple domains (e.g. data platforms, identity systems, infrastructure, patient-facing apps).
- Operate core rhythms of execution: standups, risk reviews, async updates, retrospective feedback loops.
- Own communication across engineering, product, and exec stakeholders—ensuring clarity, brevity, and rigor.
- Track and publish program health, decisions, and changes in writing.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Integrate security, compliance, and observability into every delivery plan.
- Facilitate architectural alignment across teams—driving clarity on interfaces, ownership, and scaling decisions.
- Partner with product managers to translate business goals into executable technical strategy.
- Act as the connective tissue across teams, timelines, and trade-offs.
Org Learning & Engineering Culture
- Enforce a system design-first culture—no execution without documentation.
- Facilitate postmortems, milestone reviews, and iterative improvement.
- Scale tribal knowledge into structured documents, playbooks, and training materials.
- Mentor other TPMs and technical leads on system thinking, risk-based planning, and stakeholder communication.
What You Will Bring
- 10+ years of experience in TPM, technical product/program management, or systems engineering
- Strong foundation in software engineering, cloud systems, or backend architecture
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Track record of leading technical delivery for complex, high-scale systems
- Experience influencing product/technical strategy at the organizational level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and outcome focus
- High comfort operating in fast-moving, regulated, or compliance-sensitive domains
- Experience driving execution across distributed teams in a matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in distributed systems, identity platforms, or data infrastructure
- Prior work in healthcare, pharmacy, payer systems, or HIPAA-regulated environments
- Experience with OKRs, design doc culture, and milestone-based delivery
- Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, personalization, or mobile-first systems
What We Offer
- The opportunity to grow alongside an early-stage company transforming healthcare
- Flexible time off, including 12 paid holidays
- 401k match plus 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision
