Head of Marketing
Premium Inboxes · Full-time Contractor (Exclusive) · Remote (UK / Europe / Canada / UAE) Compensation: $120,000 USD / year
About Premium Inboxes
Premium Inboxes is the largest Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 inbox provider for cold email.
- 2,500+ customers
- 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating from 420+ reviews
- Fully authenticated, fully managed inboxes (DNS, monitoring, same-day replacements) at roughly 60% of the cost of buying direct
The business is profitable, growing month over month, and has been built almost entirely on word of mouth and affiliates. The brand is founder-led: reviews mention our founder by name, and we join every customer's Slack channel personally. That trust is our biggest asset.
Now we need one person to own marketing and build it properly.
Why this role exists
Today, marketing runs through an agency that sets priorities and then hands them to the founders. The founders become the bottleneck, work stalls, and the funnel remains half-finished:
- Resource pages without email capture
- Notion documents never turned into real web pages
- No exit-intent capture
- Brand sentiment not monitored
- Reporting scattered across multiple agencies
The strategies are fine. The implementation is not.
We do not need another advisor. We need an operator who takes the entire function, fixes the fundamentals quickly, manages our agencies directly, and removes the founders from the critical path.
If you like owning outcomes and getting things shipped, this is your role.
Role setup
Type: Full-time sole contractor, exclusive (no other clients or employment)
Reports to: Richard (Co-founder)
Compensation: $120,000 USD / year
Location: Remote. UK, Canada, UAE, or Eastern Europe
Not eligible: US-based candidates (structural constraint)
Working hours: Core collaboration in BST, within 2 hours either side
Team on day one: No internal marketing team. You manage agencies and work with our developers. This is a build-it seat, not "inherit a department."
What you will own
1. Funnel fundamentals and capture
- Add exit-intent popups that drive to call booking.
- Turn existing Notion resources into tracked web pages.
- Ensure every resource sign-up captures email and flows correctly into Kit (our email platform).
2. Data and lifecycle plumbing
- Own the flow of customer and lead data into Kit.
- Make sure we can reliably run nurture, upsell, and cross-sell off a clean, segmented list.
3. Agency orchestration
You will directly manage:
- Ads Agency (Meta and Google)
- Email Agency (client-side upsell / cross-sell)
- LinkedIn Agency (LinkedIn content)
Your job is to brief them well, fetch what they need, unblock quickly, enforce quality and deadlines, and make sure you, not the founders, are accountable for what they ship.
4. Paid acquisition ownership
- Own the performance and direction of paid while the agency runs the accounts.
- We spend across Meta and Google.
- You should be able to read the accounts, challenge the agency, and know good from bad without being told.
5. SEO and content quality
- Drive ongoing SEO improvements and proper benchmarking (Search Console, GA4, and similar).
- Proof every blog (internal team) and every LinkedIn piece before it goes live.
- You are the final line on brand accuracy: no typos, no competitor names, no sloppy work.
6. Brand monitoring and sentiment
- Monitor brand mentions and sentiment via BrandMentions.
- Flag what needs a response and feed insights back into positioning, content, and offers.
7. Reporting and growth strategy
- Consolidate agency and internal data into one simple, trusted marketing report.
- Use that data to design and run the growth strategy, not just report on it.
- Weekly reporting based on crucial, needle-moving numbers.
Your first 90 days
By day 90 we expect:
- The entire marketing organism mapped and demonstrated: where the data flows, and when.
- Funnel leaks closed: exit-intent live, resources capturing emails into Kit, and Notion resources published as real pages.
- All three agencies fully owned and unblocked, with founders out of the day-to-day loop.
- Marketing reporting consolidated into one place we actually use, and weekly reporting dialled in with priorities aligned.
- Core marketing operations running smoothly without founder chasing.
- The 2 to 3 KPIs you own defined (for example: new inbound customers, CAC or MER on paid, organic traffic and sign-ups, expansion revenue), along with what "great" looks like. Then you are accountable for hitting them.
Must-have experience
- Have owned a full marketing function before (Head of Marketing or similar), not just a single channel.
- Have personally done the work: copy, light Framer / CMS edits, popups, tracking, email capture.
- Managed Meta and Google ad spend at around $40k per month and can hold an agency to performance.
- Fluent with SEO and analytics tools (Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs or equivalent).
- Ruthless attention to detail and proofreading. Brand accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Able to work BST-aligned hours and commit to an exclusive engagement.
Nice to have
- B2B SaaS experience, ideally outbound / cold email / sales tools.
- Experience with founder-led brands where the founder is visible and hands-on.
We are not looking for
- Agencies, or people who only know agency-side work.
- Pure strategists who hand execution to others.
- Anyone unwilling to work exclusively with us.
