Contract (C2C): 12mo+
Eligibility: US Citizens & Green Card Holders Only
We’re partnering with a fast-scaling infrastructure team building next-generation, cloud-agnostic systems, and they’re looking for a Software Engineer (Developer Experience) with deep expertise in open-source databases.
This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, Infrastructure, and Database Engineering, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and automation across distributed systems.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- Designing and optimizing high-availability database systems using TiDB, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL
- Design, deploy, and optimize TiDB clusters in production environments
- Driving improvements in database performance, reliability, and failover strategies
- Building and enhancing infrastructure using Terraform + Kubernetes
- Solving complex challenges around Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines
- Architecting systems that operate independently of fully managed cloud database services|
Who you are:
- Hands-on experience with open-source databases:
- TiDB (strongly preferred), MariaDB, PostgreSQL
- Deep understanding of replication, failover, and recovery
- Experience working in cloud-native, distributed environments
- Strong background in Terraform, Kubernetes, and IaC principles
- Programming experience in Go, Python, or similar
- Solid Linux foundation (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu environments)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to additional databases like Redis or FoundationDB
- Experience with Ansible or config management tooling
- Background in database performance tuning and query optimization
Bonus Points
- Experience with TiKV / TiFlash internals or ecosystem tooling
- Familiarity with large-scale data workloads or real-time analytics
- Background working in database-heavy or platform engineering teams
If you’ve actually worked with TiDB in production and want to go deeper into distributed systems + database engineering, this is a strong fit.
