Senior Server-Side Java Engineer (Event-Driven Systems)

We are hiring high-impact Backend Java Engineers to join a mission-critical team supporting large-scale public safety alerting systems used by municipalities, higher education institutions, and federal environments.

🔹 What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and enhance server-side Java applications powering high-volume alerting platforms
• Design and implement event-driven architectures (transitioning from legacy polling systems)
• Contribute to cloud modernization and migration initiatives
• Improve system scalability and performance (billions of notifications annually)
• Reduce technical debt across legacy platforms
• Work within secure and sovereign cloud environments (FedRAMP-style infrastructure)

🔹 Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Java 11/17 preferred)
• Spring / Spring Boot / RESTful APIs
• Event-driven systems (Kafka, JMS, message brokers, pub/sub)
• AWS and/or Azure
• Docker & Kubernetes
• MySQL and/or Redis
• CI/CD tools (Git, Bitbucket, Gradle)

🔹 Highly Valued Experience

• Messaging platforms (SMS, email, voice, push notifications)
• High-volume distributed systems
• Public safety / emergency alerting environments
• Telephony or investigation workflows
• Geospatial tools (Esri, GeoServer)
• Experience working in secure environments (clearance eligible, background check capable)
