Principal Software Engineer / Software Architect

As a provider of delivery expertise and pragmatic solutions to high-profile customers, we are seeking to expand our skills base with a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer or Software Architect with several years of proven experience delivering complex software solutions, including a track record of leading the design and implementation of distributed, scalable event-driven and microservices architectural patterns. Strong software engineering leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality solutions in complex environments, are a must.

Essential requirements:

• Demonstrable hands-on coding experience (preferably in Python)
• Ability to advise and support senior developers and specialist network architects on software engineering best practices
• The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape technical direction and strategy.
• The ability to write and maintain architecture decision records (ADRs) and design documentation in Markdown.

The following experience is highly desirable:

• SDN (Software-Defined Networking) activation systems
• CICD pipelines and DevOps experience
• Software engineering in telecom environments (e.g., BT, Vodafone, EE, Three UK, O2, Virgin, TalkTalk)
