Senior Kotlin Engineer – Remote (LATAM ONLY)

Rate: USD $28–$30/hr

A well-funded, mission-driven U.S. fintech company is seeking Senior Software Engineers with strong Kotlin experience to join their fully remote engineering team. The company is scaling its digital lending platform—designed to help borrowers reduce debt—and has already refinanced more than $6B in loans. They are hiring across LATAM (including Brazil) to expand their impact and accelerate platform growth.

What You’ll Do

• Own project outcomes end-to-end—from concept and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Build and scale APIs that power core products and support rapid company growth.
• Identify and drive improvements in architecture, performance, and team processes.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentor teammates and help elevate the technical bar across the organization.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to system reliability and uptime.
• Engage in a remote-first culture built on transparency, communication, and shared ownership.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Kotlin experience in production systems.
• Strong understanding of JVM languages, functional programming, and modern backend patterns.
• Proven experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Background in service-oriented and event-driven architectures and building scalable APIs.
• Practical experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
• Ability to make data-driven decisions in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.
• Fluent English communication skills (the team operates fully in English).
• Growth-oriented mindset, humility, and willingness to give/receive candid feedback.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with distributed teams.
