Description

We’re looking for a software engineer to join our public facing API’s team. A core service that acts as the central bridge between multiple Point of Rental products and the public alike. You’ll work closely with product teams, architects, and other engineers to support and improve one of the most critical systems in our platform.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with service-oriented architectures, solving integration challenges, and building software that supports the full scope of the rental industry. You’ll have a hand in making our APIs more scalable, reliable, and easier for internal teams and external partners to consume.

Job Responsibilities

Build and maintain Node.js/TypeScript APIs that supports multiple applications
Help break down a high-maintenance monolith into more modular, scalable components
Contribute to cross-cutting initiatives like improving system observability, authentication, and stability
Write tests, review code, and participate in sprint planning and refinement sessions
Own features from planning through release in a collaborative and supportive team environment

Required Experience

2+ years of experience in software development
Strong knowledge of API Architecture Best Practices
Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and Javascript in general
Solid understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, and service communication
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Clear communication and willingness to work closely with other teams
Measuring and Improving API Performance
Log aggregation and analysis

Preferred Experience

Experience with AWS, serverless, or distributed systems
Measuring and Improving API Performance
Log aggregation and analysis
Familiarity with monorepos, and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to regulated environments (PCI, SOC2) is a plus

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt. Base Salary + Benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision) + 120 Hours PTO + 8 Holidays + 100% 401K Matching (Up to 4%). Open to Remote or Hybrid Environments.

The base pay range for this position is $60,000 to $85,000 per year The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, experience and training, skills, licenses and certifications, and education among other factors.
