UI/UX Designer (AI-Powered Application for Hardware Engineers – Fully Remote)About the Role

Our client is looking for a UI/UX Designer to help build an AI-driven application for hardware engineers from the ground up. This role requires a high level of ownership, creativity, and adaptability, as you’ll be shaping the product’s user experience from its earliest stages.

You’ll work directly with their customers to understand workflows, gather feedback, and integrate features that improve usability. This is a unique opportunity to design a first-of-its-kind tool that helps engineers streamline hardware design, sourcing, and collaboration with AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate on UI/UX for a brand-new AI-powered platform, ensuring a seamless experience for hardware engineers.
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs, pain points, and workflows, and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that prioritize usability and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a scalable design system for consistency across the product.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and AI specialists to ensure smooth implementation of design concepts.
• Advocate for the user by conducting usability testing and gathering feedback to refine and improve designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in technical or B2B applications.
• Excellent communication skills—comfortable working directly with customers and translating their needs into product design.
• Experience in building a product from scratch, working through ambiguity, and adapting as requirements evolve.
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for prototyping and design.
• Strong understanding of interaction design, typography, and accessibility best practices.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS to collaborate effectively with developers.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while staying aligned with a distributed team.
• High proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of hardware engineering workflows or experience designing for highly technical users.
• Experience with AI-powered applications or data-driven interfaces.
• Background in conducting user research and usability testing.
