Duda Web Designer

Micro-agency seeking a contract web designer with experience creating websites on the Duda platform, who is looking for a side-gig level of work. Please note that we unify the design and development stages by using WYSIWYG website creation tools. This is why a good eye for design as well as Duda skills are required in this position.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED. College coursework or associate degree is a plus.
• Proficiency in using (or quickly learning) Google G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc) and other daily office management tools
• Timely communication with Plethora Creative’s internal team and take edits/feedback for rapid turnaround.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills for working remotely.
• Modern computer (Chromebook acceptable) with working webcam for team meetings, and reliable high-speed internet connection.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience in graphic and/or web design
• At least 1 year of experience creating websites with the Duda website builder, preferably more even if with a different platform/builder
• MUST have a portfolio showcasing both general design skill (may be demonstrated by graphic design examples) and web design skills (live sites preferred, though full-page screenshots are acceptable)
• Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative ideas.
• Ability to take ownership, work independently, and meet deadlines with quality work.
• Up to date on trends, web best practices, image licensing and optimization, etc.
• Continually pursues personal growth of design knowledge through curiosity and research

Responsibilities:

• Translates a provided style guide / visual identity guide into the website's look & feel
• Generates engaging and creative ideas
• Incorporates clients' specific needs with best practices in mind
• Proactively researches and/or thinks of strategy for clients’ niche
• Source images, icons, and decorative elements within legal best practices and client style parameters (we subscribe to stock image websites)
• Implements designer best practices (white space, visual balance, typography best practices, mobile responsive design, etc)
• Excellent at designing within brand’s style and does not deviate based on personal style

Fully remote part-time, contract position

Estimated time commitment: up to 10 hours a week

Compensation type: hourly
