Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist with expertise in Computer Vision to lead the development of advanced video analysis models for our platform. This role will focus on refining our AI algorithms, including object detection, tracking, and classification, tailored to the needs of football clubs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other senior engineers to drive strategic advancements in our technology.

This is a flexible, part-time role, offering the opportunity to be part of an exciting early-stage startup with significant growth potential. You will have the autonomy to work remotely and manage your schedule while contributing to a transformative product in the sports tech space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute computer vision experiments for video and image analysis, focusing on detection and tracking tasks relevant to sports analytics
• Develop state-of-the-art object detection models, such as YOLO, with custom training for football-specific use cases
• Collect, preprocess, and annotate video and image datasets to support model training and refinement
• Optimize model performance for deployment on GPU cloud services
• Continuously evaluate and enhance models
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in computer vision and deep learning to keep our technology at the forefront

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in computer vision, with a strong focus on object detection and video analysis
• Proven hands-on experience, including custom training and deployment
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or OpenCV
• Strong understanding of CNNs, image augmentation, model evaluation metrics, and visual debugging
• Ability to work independently in a flexible, part-time capacity while meeting project milestones.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in sports analytics or working with video data specific to athletic performance.
• Background in deploying machine learning models in production environments for real-time applications

Compensation:

This position can either be on project/task basis or equity based. This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage startup and share its future success. Specific equity terms will be discussed during the interview process.
