Backend Software Engineer

Playconomy is an early-stage startup building a revolutionary token-based gaming wallet and marketplace ecosystem. Our platform allows users to earn tokens through various games and spend them on real-world products and services at partner stores in marketplace. We’re developing a robust infrastructure combining game integration, wallet systems, transactional logic, and marketplace APIs — all running on a modern microservice architecture.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Go (Golang) and Fiber framework
• Build and maintain APIs for wallet transactions, token rewards, and marketplace payments
• Integrate and optimize PostgreSQL queries for high-performance transactional workloads
• Work on user authentication, transaction security, and balance consistency mechanisms
• Create reusable service layers that can serve multiple third-party games and platforms
• Write clean, well-documented, and tested code with a microservice mindset
• Collaborate closely with the CTO and backend team to define architecture and standards

Requirements

• Mid-Level: 2+ years backend experience (preferably in Go, C#)
• Senior-Level: 4+ years backend experience, at least 1 year with Golang
• Strong understanding of relational databases and raw SQL (PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and backend architecture
• Experience working on systems that involve user authentication, balance, or transaction logic
• Experience developing and maintaining microservice architecture
• Ability to write well-tested and scalable code with good documentation
• Self-driven, reliable, and motivated to work in a distributed early-stage team

Nice to Have

• Redis, WebSocket or pub/sub experience
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, K8s basics)
• Experience with cloud services such as GCP, AWS
• Past experience with payment systems, gaming backends, or loyalty platforms
• Fluency in Azerbaijani
